On December 30th, 2013, Can tho University of Technology (CTUT) warmly welcomed Mr. Manoj Kumar, Consul and Head of Chancery of Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City together with his lady Rosy Kumar and family members. Accompanying with the Consul were Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet, Commercial Assistant and Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Tuyet Lam from Can Tho External Relation Department. Dr. Duong Thai Cong, Rector of CTUT, M.Ed. Nguyen Van Au, Vice Rector of CTUT, and leaders of offices in CTUT received the delegation. On behalf of the Rectorate Board, Dr. Duong Thai Cong sent his warm greeting to the distinguished guests.

At the meeting, Dr. Duong Thai Cong made a brief introduction about CTUT and its training, scientific research activities during the last time, its development strategy in the future; and its striving orientation to become a university with regional and international advanced training standard. Dr. Duong Thai Cong affirmed that CTUT will continue to strengthen its advantage in Information Technology, following the develoment orientaion of Can Tho City in the future; emphasized the importance of international cooperation in new curriculum development, scientific research, exchange of lecturers and students as well as supportive activities, experience share in fields of English training and some similar training disciplines; especially in Information Technology and Software Technology.


In exchange, both sides were of the same mind about establishing 2 –phased undergraduate program, in which Vietnamese students will study their first 2 years in CTUT and the final 2 years in a partner university in India. Mr. Manoj Kumar congratulated CTUT on its fast development and achievements. He expressed his high agreement on CTUT’s suggestions in training cooperation and promised to find suitable universities in India for long-term cooperation.         

Dr. Duong Thai Cong thanked the Consulate general of India, especially Mr. Manoj Kumar and Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet, who have recently offered many short-course training scholarships to CTUT’s lecturers of Electrical Engineering – Electronics – Tele-communications faculties to get training in India. Dr. Duong Thai Cong also sent best wishes to Mr. Manoj Kumar, his family as well as Indian people on the occasion of 42 years of Diplomatic relation between India and Vietnam and the upcoming New Year 2014.
