On October 16, 2013 Can Tho University (CTU) was honored to welcome the delegation from the Consulate General of Canada led by Mr. Marcel Laneville, Senior Trade Commissioner to pay a visit to CTU. Warmly receiving the delegates at CTU’s side was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Viet Dung, Vice Rector together with leader representatives and responsible staff from the School of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Education, Centre for Foreign Languages and Department of International Relations.
On the business trip to Can Tho City, the delegation from the Consulate General of Canada kindly visited CTU and learned more about the activities and the development of CTU as well as the cooperation between CTU and Canadian institutions.
CTU Leaders kindly sent the warmest greetings to the delegation and shared an overview about CTU’s activities under the principles of autonomy in governance, especially in credit system, focusing on training the students with the necessary knowledge and skills. It is of great efforts to train high quality human resources with good awareness and behaviors in order to serve the development of the Mekong delta of Vietnam as well as meet the human resource requirements of the society upon the era of international integration. Additionally, CTU’s leaders keenly shared the collaborative relationship with Canadian universities through the training of human resources, joint scientific research projects under the supports from both the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Canada. Thereby, the leaders of CTU respectfully expressed deeply thanks to the kind supports from the Consulate General of Canada and the relevant agencies to the good cooperative relationships.
Representing the delegation, Mr. Marcel Laneville appreciate the efforts and achievements of the school , the strategic vision and direction as well as development moves its importance in the field of school education in particular and CTU Vietnam in general. Thereby, the Senior Commissioner also expressed the kind thanks to the warm welcome of CTU to the delegation, and expected the cooperation between CTU and Canadian institutions to be expanded further to promote more significant cooperation on education and improve mutual understanding between Vietnamese and Canadian cultures.
